Snapshot, a virtual tour of the RISD Museum snapshot

Whether you have visited the RISD Museum before or not, join us for a privileged virtual tour of its collections with a veteran docent, Charlann Walker. Charlann and her fellow docents will lead us through a Zoom meeting that highlights features of several of the museum’s collections: paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, costumes, textiles, Asian art, ancient art, prints, drawings, and photographs.

The RISD Museum is, “one of the 20 must-see museums in America,” says Fodor’s Travel. In a recent online article, Architectural Digest named the RISD Museum the best university art museum in America. “Rhode Island School of Design is one of the leading art schools in the country, and its museum marks one of New England’s best art collections,” Fodor’s points out. Join us for this first ever Snapshot program given to The Village Common.

Register for the Zoom Snapshot Tour with the button on the upper right side of this page, or call a Service Coordinator at 441-5240. The Zoom link will be emailed to you on the morning of the event.

This meeting is just the beginning! If there is interest among you participants, we’ll schedule an optional in-person tour of the galleries that interest you the most. The RISD Museum is right here in Providence’s front yard.

A Sunshine Fund is now available for members and volunteers that enables attendance or participation in a program, event, celebration or performance when the cost would be an impediment. Individuals should contact Executive Director Caroline Gangji via email: caroline.gangji@villagecommonri.org
