About this event
This November meeting of the TVC Film Club offers three films for discussion. We may discuss each film, or merely give a nod to one and focus entirely on the other(s). It will be up to the group’s general enthusiasm/curiosity to determine the path we take.
Here are the three films up for discussion:
"Rustin", directed by George C. Wolfe. This films is about Bayard Rustin, the gay Civil Rights leader who helped organize the March on Washington but was erased from history because of his communist affiliation and sexual orientation. Available on Netflix.
"Nyad", directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin. Actress Annette Bening trained for a year in order to be able to depict Diana Nyad, who made an astonishing swim from Cuba to Florida at age 64. Available on Netflix.
"The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar", directed by Wes Anderson. This recent 40-minute short by Wes Anderson is based on a story by Roald Dahl. Available on Netflix.
