Demystifying Veteran Benefits
About this event
Demystifying Veteran Benefits
This presentation will provide a brief overview of the Veterans Health Administration, eligibility, benefits, and health offerings, including Medicare changes for 2025.
In November, we celebrate Veteran’s Day. We would like to take a moment and express a sincere thank you for service to all Village Common RI veterans. As a call to action, we are offering the following presentation to our veteran community and their families: Demystifying Veteran Benefits.
Our two expert panelists, Kim Ferrante from the VA in Providence and Amy Putrino from MediPlans, will be presenting this information and fielding questions afterwards. Please join us!
Kim Ferrante: Kim is a clinical social worker who has worked for the VA Providence Healthcare System for over 18 years. She currently holds the position as one of the Community Engagement and Partnership Coordinators (CEPEC). The CEPC position supports the outreach efforts for the Suicide Prevention Program, acting as the public health arm of the program. Kim leverages support from the community to take actions steps towards reducing Veteran suicide by raising awareness, providing education and pathways to care, and more.
Amy Putrino: Amy has been assisting with Medicare education, decision making, and enrollments since 2011. She founded her own company, MediPlan Advisors, Inc., and works as an Independent Medicare Advisor, helping individuals coordinate Medicare benefits with Medicaid, VA Benefits, Low Income Subsidies, and more. She is a founding member of We Can Help You, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, with a mission of educating and assisting individuals with Medicare and Social Security. She works with her two daughters, Jillian and Jessica, who are also licensed Independent Medicare Advisors.
