Senior Voices for Aging in the Community
House Meeting on Zoom
Join Bill Flynn and Linda Katz for an opportunity to share your stories about "aging in the community during the pandemic" and learn about what’s working, what isn’t. We will introduce and discuss legislative and policy priorities for older adults and their caregivers in 2021 and how to build more senior power. We also will discuss the state budget and how sufficient revenue can be raised to pay for vital government services, including access to long-term care services in the community. This event will occur on both Thursday, November 12, and Wednesday, November 18. Please register for only one session, as both sessions will cover the same topics. Each session is limited to 12 registrants.
Bill Flynn is a community organizer with 45 years of experience in helping groups build power to address issues of poverty, racism, and senior empowerment. He has headed the
Senior Agenda Coalition of RI
since 2008 and holds an MSW from the University of Michigan.
Linda Katz is the Policy Director at the
Economic Progress Institute
, a policy, research and advocacy organization that works for economic security for lowand modest-income Rhode Islanders and fair and equitable tax policy. Linda is a partner with the Senior Agenda and RI Organizing Project in advocating for state and federal supports that allow older adults to age in the community. She has been engaged in advocacy for economic justice in Rhode Island for over 40 years, moving here after graduating from Boston College Law School.
Registration is required!
Please register via the Calendar, and you will receive a zoom link on the morning of November 18. Should you need assistance registering, please call 401-441-5240, and a service coordinator will lend a hand.
