I was born and raised in sunny and warm Brazil. In the 70's I came to U.S to attend college in cold and windy Chicago. What a thermal and cultural shock that was, and yet I started developing a loving appreciation for this country.

After I graduated with a degree in Computer Science I returned to Brazil and worked for local and state government agencies as well as private companies for over twenty years. In the early 2000's I returned to U.S. I worked in the hospitality business and as a licensed Realtor for the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island. In 2004 I met my lovely wife Katherine and we live in Westerly.

Artists Statement

My interest in photography began at the age of ten when my Aunt Helena presented me with an Eastman Kodak camera for my birthday. Needless to say, I photographed every family member and even made some money to pay for developing the film rolls and buy new ones. Unfortunately, I don't remember what happened to that old camera.

A couple of years ago I purchased a nice digital Nikon camera and started shooting pictures again. This time my main subject focused on nature in its various forms: flowers, beaches, sunsets, landscapes etc. I have digitally enhanced a few photos and had them printed on canvas to decorate our bedroom and to match the colors of one of Katherine's artistic quilts. I still prefer to see my photos in their original form without using artificial/digital tools and enhancements, other than cropping them to the right framing.
