About this event

Assessment and Treatment of
Hoarding Disorder in Older Adults
Hoarding disorder is a hidden health crisis that can put older adult's health at risk. Hoarding can lead to falls, fire hazards, and unsafe living conditions. It can worsen chronic illnesses, prevent access to care, and leave older adults isolated.
Join this webinar led by Mary E Dozier, Ph.D. Professor, Associate Professor, Mississippi State University and national expert on Hoarding Disorder. A brief background on hoarding in older adults and the impact of hoarding will be discussed.

Evidenced-based screening measures will be introduced to support screening and referral for individuals with hoarding problems. Best practice treatment modalities will be highlighted including Mary’s work in the development of Project RECLAIM-Reduce Clutter and Increase Meaning through applying motivational interviewing to sorting practice with older adults. The presentation will conclude with a brief Q&A discussion.
